Why the Subconscious Mind Wants to Take Control and How Not to Let It
Jun 07, 2021"Our thoughts are mainly controlled by our subconscious, which is largely formed before the age of 6, and you cannot change the subconscious mind by just thinking about it. That's why the power of positive thinking will not work for most people. The subconscious mind is like a tape player. Until you change the tape, it will not change." - Bruce Lipton
If you are a fan of the law of attraction, then you know that the stories inside the back of your head may guide your life.
If you grew up believing that money is the root of all evil, and translated that subconsciously to mean “money is evil,” then chances are that money is something that only “bad” people seek out.
The goal is to choose to live through your principles, by first examining them. If you desire money but hold a limiting belief around money, your subconscious mind may keep money and all its benefits away from you.
We are all like flowers with many flower petals to uncover, roots and seeds. In order to truly embrace our greatness, we need to recognize that we are many parts and have just as many layers.
If your environment keeps draining your energy, it's like having a leaky bank account, where any money you're putting into the bank, such as by seeing an energy healer, keeps slipping out. You have to change your environment, including any harmful beliefs, before the energy can stay high. - Bruce Lipton
The subconscious could be relatable to the roots which are so deeply embedded into our lives. In order to get in touch with our subconscious layers, we need to peel them back one at a time.
How the Subconscious Mind is at Work
The subconscious mind holds the memories of every experience we’ve ever had. Whatever we see in our environment is what it will record for use later on.
It keeps the record of every single memory we have. It’s a story that our subconscious mind began writing the moment we entered the world. Based on this story we tell ourselves, we develop beliefs that then influence our decisions throughout life.
“The unexamined life is not worth living.” - Aristotle
The subconscious mind absorbs many things; its beliefs about money; its beliefs about relationships; its beliefs about who and what we should be in the world and more.
The subconscious is responsible for how we feel about everything. . . . . . from education and money to career and family to how we choose to respond to painful and joyful moments in our life.
Did you grow up in a traditional household where your mom was a stay-at-home mom and your dad worked 7 days a week? If so, have you chosen the same path or did you have an opposite reaction?
Did you suffer the challenge of having a family member who suffered from alcohol addiction? Do you find that you are either repulsed by drinking or find yourself in close relationships with people who also suffer the same addiction?
You may thank your subconscious mind for influencing the way you respond to frequencies that continue to show up in your life. Indeed, there is a magnetic pull between us and those frequencies.
Maybe they serve a different purpose than we first concluded?
We live in a world where finding fault in others seems to be the favorite blood sport. It has long been the basis of political campaign strategy. It is the theme of much television programming across the world. It sells newspapers. Whenever we meet anyone, our first, almost unconscious reaction may be to look for imperfections. - Henry B. Eyring
The problem with this is, we are not our story and an unhealthy childhood environment can lead to adaptive beliefs that are only effective in that toxic environment.
This is why examining our beliefs is so important. Do your beliefs still serve you like they did back then. What if your choice today, based on fear produced by yesterday, blind you from what could be in your future?
